does it matter if you mix brands of ram?

i just picked up a new laptop lenovo ideapad z710. The laptop came with one 8gb ram stick installed, and the other slot is empty.
The ram that came with the laptop is by Samsung M471B1G73QH0-YK0.

If i want to add another 8gb of ram does it have to be an exact match to the one the laptop came with or can i get different brand?

I was only able to find a few of the samsung 8gb on ebay, and the prices seem high compared to other brands. photo of existing ram

As long as its ddr3 1600mhz memory, you are fine.

It has a part number on it.
