AMD Catalyst 14.4 Users - Are you noticing screen flickering?

I reinstalled my PC the other week and I also added another monitor to my setup. Installed the latest drivers for my 5870 from AMD and now I am getting a lot of screen flickering, usually when playing video or switching windows from one monitor to the other. It's very annoying because video editing is what I do and usually I have a tutorial playing on one screen whilst I follow it on the other in the editing application.

I did a complete uninstall and reinstall with Display Driver Uninstaller - still playing up.

Looking around on the internet it seems that this is a buggy driver we have here. Some people have also reported problems booting into Windows with these drivers and I had the same problem too - if you restarted from within Windows it wouldn't boot back up again. I resolved it somehow though.

In true 'AMD fashion' with driver updates about once every quarter (if we're lucky!) the problem has been persisting since about mid-April and they STILL haven't done anything about it.

I can't remember if I had these drivers before I reinstalled my PC or not. I think I may have had older ones because I was not having any problems at all.

I'm not very happy about this. Is anybody else here who is using the 14.4 drivers noticing the same?

I've had none of those issues

Are you using two monitors?

I notice my PC is pretty dusty. Going to get an air compressor and get the dust out of it soon. It could be my card is overheating. But looking on the internet, it's more like driver problems.

My brothers (HD 5770 1GB Crossfire and HD 6870) both use the 14.4 driver and haven't complained. And they complain about everything :D
Also used it briefly before I upgraded, and I'm using it on HD 6990M and 7970M - no issues.
Only issue on 7970M is I can't turn off the iGPU completely, and the GPU-switching software is terrible :)

Been using 14.7 RC for a day now. The problem is still here but it's not as frequent and not as 'big'. Hoping it gets fixed with the next stable driver release.

Edit for those who may find this on Google - fixed it by buying a shiny new GTX 760 and going back to NVIDIA. ;)
