Ethernet Troubles

Hey all, so I relocated my Windows 7 HTPC to my office temporarily and I plugged the ethernet cable that I was using with my laptop into my HTPC, but I'm getting no connection to the HTPC. The lights on the router for the port that it's plugged into is blinking away, though.

I'm wondering if it could be because the HTPC was plugged into a different router out in the living room than the one that's in my office, but I've been using it with my MacBook just fine, so it should work.

The HTPC just tells me to connect to a wireless network (it has a built-in wireless card), so it doesn't even seem to recognize the ethernet cable.

Any help? Networking isn't my strong suit.

Check device manager and make sure the driver is installed.

Also open a command prompt and type ipconfig to see if it's getting an IP address.

Right click on the one under other devices and select Uninstall. Then when it's done, right click a category and scan for new hardware.

If it doesn't automatically install, right click the device and choose properties. Then go to the Details tab and select Hardware ID from the dropdown. Copy the hardware ID on the top line and paste it here.
