Logitech G700s Rechargeable Gaming Mouse

Well I parted with £75.00 at the weekend (About 110 USD), I may as well have burned it!

The G700 "gaming mouse" IMO is a load of horse s**t. I have never used something as clunky as that in my life (and I used to have a roller ball mouse).

So let me start off.

I owned two mad catz R.A.T 7's

- pros
  • Adjustable weight
  • Adjustable shape
  • Adjustable DPI
  • Sensitive mouse buttons
  • Looks cool
  • Good price

- cons
  • Wired (yes you can get a wireless version)
  • Right mouse button breaks easily (broke both of them)
  • Cheap components and cheap feel

Overall great mouse!

Then I owned a Razer Naga 2014 Expert MMO Gaming Mouse

- pros
  • Loads of buttons
  • Adjustable DPI
  • Sensitive mouse buttons
  • Looks cool
  • good weight

- cons
  • Wired (yes you can get a wireless version)
  • No adjustable weight
  • No adjustable shape
  • left side buttons are small and clustered, can be fiddly at times to use

Overall great mouse!

Now we get to my recent purchase the Logitech G700

- pros
  • Wireless/wired
  • rechargeable
  • Adjustable DPI
  • battery/profile LED indicators
- cons
  • clunky main left and right mouse buttons
  • long spongy button clicks on the left and right mouse buttons (sucks for games)
  • mouse wheel isn't knotchy (it doesn't click) so it will spin pretty much when ever there is a lot of mouse movement (again really frustrating when gaming)
  • No adjustable weight
  • No adjustable shape, the shape is awful, the naga is so nice to hold and use, because of the side button locations its a real pain to use!
  • Primary side buttons are spongy, no nice sharp clicks, again horrible for gaming.

So over all this is by far the worst gaming mouse I have ever owned or used. Yet people on Amazon and other forums give this product a good rating!?!?

Thought/comments?

Isn't the Logitech at the bottom of the price scale here?

aka you get what you pay for...

My logitech M510 is perfectly fine for my needs and has no adjustable stuff. It's wireless and runs on a AA battery.. I might get a wired keyboard and mouse but personally I have no need for my gaming preferences.

Here's my main mouse history:
>Something I don't remember (pre-13 years old)
>Logitech G500 Brown
>Logitech G500 Blue (new sensor)
>Logitech G400s

I'm going to pick up a Gigabyte THOR M7 today (for my gaming laptop), because it was $30 and reviews said it's a Razer Naga without built-in macro buttons - so sounds like a good deal.

I have also had a, I believe, Logitech MK700 which I gave away. I never saw the appeal of wireless mice for gaming, you need that instantaneous, stable connection to do your MLG x360N0SC0P3Sx. Oh, and running out of battery was a pain. I feel that with my headset nowadays. Love that it's wireless, hate that it needs charging. Both my headset and MK700 didn't have replaceable batteries.
Oh and btw, the MK700 had a clickable mousewheel, so you could change between 'knotchy' and free spin. I'd assume yours could do the same.

Also have a few spare Logitech RX250 (cheapest Logitech mouse basically, just for common use and spare PCs)

I've loved every single one of them, and the only one that broke just a little bit was the blue G500, I couldn't go right with the middle-mouse button.
I got the blue free, if I gave the old to my brother - no problem :)
Bought the G400s, because I had had the Blue for about 6-7 years, must've been real dirty :D

Needless to say, I've never had an issue with a Logitech product - but I haven't tried your mouse :)

Why would you buy one if you already disliked the shape? Also, it's already contoured similar to all of the other Logitech mice..

As per my other post it sounds like you're trying to dislike this unit, but maybe you got a defective one. The middle scroll wheel has a feature where if you hit the button right below it it will 'lock' into 'clicky' mode and you can toggle between that and hyper scroll.

I use a G700s as my primary mouse and it's been smooth sailing for me personally.

Yeah you're probably right, think I might just need time to adjust.

I got so used to the sharp clicks on the NAGA, the G700 clicks on the main left and right buttons do not seem as sharp.

I guess it's just down to what you get used too.

Eh, could be, maybe yours had a manufacturing defect though. I used a Razer Mamba and DeathAdder 2013 before having the G700s and they seem to feel pretty similar clickywise between them. I think the Logitech units have a less 'cheap' feel to the unit overall though.

Indeed, even my crappy $10 dell mouse I use at work seems more responsive. Got to be a duff mouse. Will ping an email to Logitech in a bit.
