Asus USB3's going out?

The rear usb3's appear to be getting buggy. Don't know if they are starting to fail or not. The board is a Sabertooth, only about a year old.

This happens when I plug in a mouse receiver. But the receiver does work in the rear usb 2's without fail.

Little concerned the front 3's might be related (sharing same connection, etc)? What are the chances of this?

If it only happens while using the receiver then just use the usb 2.0 for the receiver. You won't get any speed difference anyway. Your receiver may be faulty.

Tried two different receivers, same thing. But yes, both receivers could be bad.

Just use 2.0. It doesn't matter anyway. It's a mouse, not a portable SSD or something. Do USB drives and the like work in them?

I follow, but I hesitate. Guess there's only one way to tell. (little weary of the thumb drive with data on it)

.... Just copy the data on to the computer using a USB 2.0 port in case you lose it. USB sticks aren't that expensive and it's also very unlikely it would damage it. Also if you haven't installed your USB 3.0 drivers they might not even work at all.

...drivers were installed. Will have to test. Hopefully this has been the receiver(s) and not the board.

Ordered a new receiver and will test with...

Received the new unifying receiver - calling Logitech they now say that it is not really usb 3.0 compatible. The receiver is intended fro 2.0 and they make a 2.0 converter for 3.0 connectors

At the same time, the tech said it might work in the 3.0 but there could be interference.

Will have to test with something else. Probably thumb drive

It is a well known issue that USB 3 can emit RF that causes issues. Use 2.0 or shield the 3.0 better.
