Constant squealing noise, and no sound.

Everything worked fine yesterday, all I did today was install a second GPU, and hooked up a new monitor, didn't touch the speakers at all. I hooked headphones up to the audio jack, and the sound is still there so its not my speakers. When the speakers are disabled the sound still comes from them, as long as they're hooked up to mobo audio jack. Anyone have an ideas?

What is the make and model of your power supply? You may be stressing your power supply with the 2 cards and causing other issues.

It's a 1000W PSU that handled two 580's just fine, the 970's use less power, and the problem is the same with only one GPU in. It squeals no matter what you hook into the audio jack, I've tried 3 different speakers, and headphones, all get a loud squeal with no volume. I'm lost as can be, I've never had a pc issue I couldn't solve until now.

Squealing also comes from the front head phone jack as well, which pretty much rules out the audio jack in back being bad.

Have you tried uninstall drivers and reinstalling them? Only other suggestion would be to get a dedicated sound card. Sounds like its a problem with the onboard sound.

Yeah I've tried that, the audio work fine when i switch to my tv, and set my tv speakers as the default, wouldn't onboard sound mess with that also? I have no room for a sound card with both GPU's.

Often when you install a video card and its drivers, windows likes to set the default audio output device to HDMI/DisplayPort audio on your monitor. So check that in control panel
