Will I get a job with an AAS?

I'm currently planning on returning to college after a multi-year absence. I want to change my major to IT, since that seems to be what I'm good at.

However, I recently learned that, shortly after my previous withdrawal, Congress put in a new 6-year lifetime limit on Pell Grants ... and that this limit was to be applied retroactively.

I've already spent five semesters getting pell grants, which means I'm just one semester short of being able to complete my bachelor's degree (and only two of my classes will be able to transfer from my old major, so I won't be able to shave off an entire semester based purely on transfer credits).

As you can see from this link ...

http://www.atu.edu/academics/catalog/colleges/applied_sciences/dept_comp_info_sci.html

... the AAS in information technology (scroll down to the bottom) has me taking the exact same classes as a Bachelor's in IT (right above the AAS). I'm just taking the classes in a different order, is all (e.g. in the bachelor's cirriculum, business speaking is taken during Junior Fall semester, whereas it's taken in the Sophmore Spring semester during the AAS).

Would I be likely to get a job - maybe just an entry level "geek squad" computer repair at Best Buy, or some other similar position - with just an AAS? Maybe I could get my AAS, and leave open the possibility of continuing towards a bachelor's degree (possibly part-time, online).

Aim higher then Geek Squad as you don't need any schooling to get a job there besides a high school diploma and they don't pay you anything.

I would think you could, depending on how much you push yourself to get a job. It might not be as much as you want. You will have to do the legwork to see whats available in your area and see what base pay they offer with an associates degree.

It all depends, but a bachelor's is a lot more valuable.

I wouldn't complete an AA to aspire to join 'Geek Squad', but you can get much better jobs with even a HS diploma. I haven't finished my BS yet and I'm pretty close to 6 figures :p

That being said it would have been a hell of a lot easier with a completed degree.

Both of these things make me very happy considering I'm studying Information Systems Technology. :D

The simply answer is yes, you can get job with AAS easily if company are looking for AAS degree employee. You just need to realize that it take a lot trust to work for their company as IT. More important, be sure you have field experience that applied to your future job. Most job will never hiring employee who have experienced only in class. I got job at Relay Protection System with my field experience and Drafting Technology AAS. The problem is you might have to do 1-3 years at college. Geeks Squad can be good to start your career for your future resume. There are many different position as Geek Squad, so read careful. Long ago, I had give my computer to Geek Squad for fix, they did good job with repair.

LOL not this again....If you end up applying for a job with just geek squad on you're resume, the new potential employer will laugh you out the door.

No, they can't do that. That is discrimination and it is illegally. They will get sued. You can saying all you want but you are wrong about everything I said. Wrote it in resume then employer will call to them for positive performed work. End of story.

So I'm asking nice. Stop disprove my claim until you have hard evidence against my experinced. It is annoying me.

Disqualified because of poor quality working or poorly education is something employee felt need to do this. That is okay. Disqualified because of something employer has against anything is not okay. That is discrimination. Where I live, have very trick law. Don't forgot, most high qualified employee or business have 4 R's. If you have poorly experience came from specific store. It is not employee problem, it is employer problem.
