I sleep with laptop next me every night. It's on my bed. IS this harmful to my body? I mean wi-fi rays or just things emitted off the laptop?

Your router and neighbors are still emitting WiFi regardless of your laptop's state. Same thing with radio broadcasts and similar.

I'd probably put it on a table just to remove that physical risk of either rolling over and crushing it with flab, or accidentally kicking it off the bed.

No it's not dangerous to you, however if you fall asleep with your laptop on and it ends up under your covers or pillow, it could overheat. That's how smartphones catch fire. Plus, you could damage it by rolling on top of it or knocking it off your bed.

If you had. It plugged into a charger which is a cheap after market one which is not approved it could potentially be dangerous.
I would be more concerned about accidentally knocking it off the bed while you are asleep and breaking it.

Another consideration is if you happen to be a bed-wetter - that could have some profound effects on both the tablet - and you! :)
