Is It Possible to Disable Google Voice Search on My Cell Phone?

Greetings.

I have a smartphone that is an LG Leon LGMS345. It has Google Voice Search on it that allows you to give the phone commands by talking into it. I never use it, but it is EXTREMELY sensitive and often picks up background noise that it mistakes for being given a command.

As a result, it causes the phone to do many crazy things while I'm on it. For example, if I'm texting someone, it will interrupt and take me back to the voice screen and keep asking what I want it to do. Same thing goes for when I'm talking.

I removed the icon / app from the front of my phone, but it is still active. Is there ANYWAY to totally disable it? Even though it is out of sight, it still picks up everything and starts to go haywire.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Open the Google app and go into Settings>Voice>"Ok Google" detection and turn that off.

Went to Google app and into Settings> Couldn't find 'voice." tab. Is it the icon that is grey colored, has a white letter G in it and has six points to it that look like a sectagon? Could you post a pic of the app so I can be absolutely sure?

Thank you for your help.

Mind you I'm also using a Nexus, which is straight Android and no extra manufacturer crap.
