So, I have a very old Laptop that needs replacing. Should I Build or Buy ?
I know I can physically build a computer but I'm a little sketchy on updating the BIOS and installing Windows.
Another concern is I would need to buy a Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor so is it really cheaper then say buying an AIO ? Thanks for the help.

You don't need to update the BIOS unless let's say you got a motherboard that supports 2 generations of CPUs and you will get the newer generation CPU and you got the board before it was announced. When it comes to Windows, it's no big deal. If you somehow screw up the installation (very unlikely) you can start over

I would watch what you're telling to members here. BIOS updates can offer bug fixes to other components on the board outside of just CPU support.

Is your $1500 budget to include all the other peripherals (ie. keyboard, mouse, monitor...etc.)?

I would build your own with that budget.
Thanks, Intel_Man.
Yeah, $1500.00 would need to include all peripherals. I think (I don't really know) Keyboards might all be similar except for extreme gaming needs. How about a decent Monitor ?

Even if you bought an AIO, you'd still need to get a keyboard and mouse to use it. Just build your own, installing Windows is one of the easiest parts of the process.

Looks good! You could get by with a CX600M PSU though. The GTX 960 is now a previous generation card so normally I wouldn't recommend it right now but since you're video editing and not gaming(?) all you'll be using it for is the CUDA cores so it should be absolutely fine!

Motherboard - you can get mid range $160, save money for video card?

RAM - probably something faster?

Video card you picked is expensive. Cheapest one only $164.
