thanks!

I'll be running scans overnight. I seriously doubt I have malware/virus issues though. What else could cause this issue? And how might I repair it without having to do a windows reinstall and reinstalling all 100++ games?

In case there is no malware, you could be looking at another hardware problem, maybe a firmware problem too. Do you ever get blue screens with errors?

Nope. Never had a single bluescreen with this build.

Well if there are no viruses then I don´t know what could it be.

What throws me off is the fact that it only happens with games. While it is true those are ussualy the most demanding apps, if there was a virus, defective hardware or an improper connection, you should see it´s effects all around your OS. Maybe there is something wrong with your registry. I guess you also try CCleaner but the Registry feature can be dangerous.

Should I just bite the bullet and do a clean reinstall of Win10?? :(

I would leave it as a last resort. Did you run the programs? Did they find anything?

There are plenty of other options. Drivers, checking for defective components by elimination (meaning you turn off your PC, discharge the system, remove something, boot and try, until you realise what is slowing you down). If there is something wrong with one of your components the reinstalling would be futile.

Before you start removing components you should run tests to see if you get any clues. Somthing like this: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/13-windows-diagnostics-tools-check-pcs-health/

It sounds tedious, but it´s all in the spirit of not having to buy a new PC.

Did you look in the event viewer under windows logs then application or even system for that matter? Should be some errors in there describing what is going on.

Oh also a good idea is to create a new Windows account, and see which processes are being executed in the Task Manager. There may be clues there too.

Do you think creating a new windows account will resolve the issue? Can't hurt anything, I'll give it a shot now.

BTW What exactly should I be looking for in task manager?

Non Windows processes, or anything that doesn't look familiar. Google it or post it here. But most importantly run the antivirus tools and the "health" tests. That's only if all those tools don't find anything, or if they find anything but don't solve the problem. And also run the integrity check tools. Manual stuff is usually harder and slower, that's why you do it after doing all the other things (integrity tests, malware checks, adware, etcetera).

What integrity checks should I run exactly?

BTW I created a new account and games load really fast. I'd prefer to not have to use a new account though as setting everything back up the way I had it will be a PITA.

I guess we can discard hardware problems. Maybe you just have too many background processes running in your main account. You could try disabling start up programs via msconfig.

Nope. Very few Bckgrnd processes. Same ones running in new acct and old acct. Makes no difference. For some reason on the new acct games load faster... ...

JRT and MWB didn't find anything...

How do I get my Windows store games (GOW4, Forza Horizon 3) to launch in my new account without having to reinstall them? I have logged in with my microsoft account and I can see them in the store as purchased but they do not show up as installed.
