Hi guys,

I need your help, I have a problem with my laptop. When I scan the chkdsk or boot into windows, it take ages for me to get through it. It sound like to me I might have a bad CPU but i'm not too sure. How I can find out if I have a bad CPU?

If I do have a bad CPU, where I can find the CPU that will perfect fit in my laptop?

The name of the CPU i got is Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P7450 Socket P (478) and the name of the motherboard is Toshiba KSKAA.

Thanks in advance

Doesn't sound like cpu, sounds like a failing hard drive or malware on your system. How much ram do you have and what operating system?

Well how do you know that it doesn't like CPU? I have checked my hard drive as it is working fine. I have got 4gb of Ram and I'm using Window 7 64bit.

If its that hot, then its overheating. You most likely have dust bunnies in the fan, time to get a can of compressed air and blow them out.

What tells you that it is a processor problem? You can blindly guess and try to insist on something without knowing what you're talking about but that doesn't necessarily make it true.

Mechanical hard drive failure rates are astronomically higher than any other laptop component.

I have just checking the CPU fan, it is running high as 90% and CPU temperature is 74c. Is that a bad CPU?

You don't know if this is under load or not. You don't know where the clearly not-too-knowledgeable OP is getting these readings. Yes, 74 is toasty for a core 2 based chip, but we don't have enough information.

The odds of a bad CPU are astronomically low. You're more likely to get hit by lightning than you are to get a defective CPU. Bad hard drive is much more likely as is malware bogging down the computer, which is what would happen to a not knowledgeable user who thinks things like his CPU is going bad.
