Port forwarding/Unblocking

Hi,
I have tried to access programs such as steam, or battle.net, however I found out that all ports except 80 and 443 are blocked. I am unable to contact my ISP, so I am trying to do port forwarding. I tried all methods and nothing is working. UPNP is not supported on the router and the router does not even show up in the Network folder. Are there any other ways of unblocking or forwarding ports without router access or contacting the ISP?

Thanks,

Why not?

What router do you have? You also aren't required to port forward for blizzard games.

Because the wifi is public. The router is not accessible by me, so I am unable to make changes. If The games were using port 443 or 80 then no, otherwise yes.

Solution: get your own internet connection.

The hotspot likely filters any destination ports other than 53/80/443.

Yeah, it does. Thanks anyway

You don't need to port forward to game unless you have your own game server that you host.
Well obviously I don't want to host games like WoW, as I'd be the only one playing it. However, for some games you need internet connection and therefore ports to be unblocked to just be able to play it offline, e.g. GTA 5, which I don't understand at all.

You can't forward ports without accessing the router. What methods did you try?

Sounds like it's not a port problem, but rather there is content filtering applied. What sort of internet are you using? My guess is the public hotspot you're using does not allow games like Steam since they are trying to deter heavy bandwidth usage and/or people using that network who they don't want to be using it.

I found out, that the Steam downloads actually work by connecting a mobile phone hotspot and disconnecting. When initiating the download on the hotspot and disconnecting, the download kept running on the wifi. And that's where the bandwidth usage comes from, so i'm surprised that they didn't manage to prevent that
