Old software drive ID change

I have an old security software that is set to send photo shots to drive A: Only drive A, no options.

Is there a way to change the drive ID inside the program to send to D: or CD. Or even F: which is a Flash drive?

Can I change the drive ID in DOS setup to be D or F?

Nope. Drive A means floppy drive. Floppy drives are usually labeled A or B in bios.

If you are dealing wtih a software that only makes backups to floppy then you need to upgrade to a current program.

You could do a rigged workaround by reassigning a drive as the A: drive within Disk Management

If the software you're using is honestly that old I'd get something newer, though.

I looked at disk management but I only saw the the C drive and the D drive options to change

The old software is security cctv and works great and is designed to take a snapshot from a video camera. I need a larger drive to combine snapshots when needed.

Last week 4 guys with guns at my gate to rod the place but were scared off by the dogs. I want to take still photos of each one to give to the police and the old software only sends the photos to A: drive .

I would like to send them to a flash drive with a larger memory but one photo per 3.5 disk is too slow and time consuming.

Windows will not allow you to change cd drives to A as they are designated only to floppy drives. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but use different software or continue to use floppies if you have them.
