Hi, I'm in the process of trying to build a gaming computer for under 850 AUD.
So far I've come up with:
Intel Core i3 7100 Kabylake 3.9GHz 3MB Retail Box $152
ASUS GeForce GTX1050 Phoenix 2GB GDDR5 $159
Gigabyte H270M-D3H LGA1151 mATX Desktop Motherboard $116
G.Skill 8GB Kit (2x4GB) DDR4 Ripjaws 4 Red C15 2400MHz $179
WD Black WD5000LPLX 2.5" 500GB 32MB 7200RPM Mobile HDD $75
Deepcool Tesseract Black/Red Mid Tower w/Side Window $59
Corsair CX550 550W 80PLUS Bronze Power Supply $89
Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-Bit DVD $129
Total: $958

I'm in Australia which effects the pricing and i'll be buying all parts through https://www.ple.com.au
What would you recommend I change/ down grade to keep the price under $850?
The computer will just be for gaming and I'd like to be able to upgrade it in a few years if possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Get the Pentium G4560 to save some cash. If you want to save lots get Linux/Ubuntu instead of windows.

I'd probably Ryzen 3 or 5 at that price point. 4 physical cores vs 2 with SMT/HT. Higher multithread performance at a lower cost.

Also take a look at the 1050 Ti with 4G VRAM, would have a bit more longevity.

How urgent is your buy? If you prefer to stick to Intel, I'd wait for the Coffee Lakes to come out... which is imminent.

I'd also see how Coffee pans out.

From that retailer it looks like a Ryzen 1200 build would be around the same price.

Is there a release date for it or anything?
Kinda need the build by this weekend, so I might see if there's some good cheaper mother boards or something

If you need it by this weekend, then Coffee Lake is outta luck for you.
Indeed, although from a review/cost perspective.
Price wise, it's replacing the existing lineup basically... just getting more cores to compete with Ryzen. Give or take +/-$20.
