It's not dumb. It's a strategic move to have a card that is priced similarly to AMD's Vega 56 and is slightly faster than it. That's the whole reason the 1070 ti exists.

Wat.

There's Enterprise deep learning type of products but it's just the codename for the next generation after the current Pascal lineup
Yep, the Geforce cards should arrive in 2018, but we don't know during which period of the year. I also wonder if they will stick to the Maxwell/Pascal release schedule with the 80 and 70 series cards being released first and based on the 104 (or 204 for maxwell) chip and then the Titan and Ti on the fully unlocked chip (GP102 is fully unlocked, the only difference between it and GP100 is that it's not based on HBM).

I saw that video already before you posted it :). I love LinusTechTips. But yah, it was kinda of a **** move.
I'm not a big fan of him because of his insane ammount of sponsored messages but his videos are good. Jayztwocents is my favorite though.

I watch all of em. No particular bias to any of them since I really only pull information off it and not their personal opinions on the matter.

Yeah so do I but Paul is the most tolerable personality wise. Jay in particular rubs me the wrong way.

I didn't watch the video but the title gives me an idea. WTF lol. It benches about 15% better than the 1070. If it wasn't for competing with AMD, I would see no purpose in the release of the card. I guess if you really want something snug in the middle of the 1070 and 1080, or were going to get a 1070 and though... meh might as well get a ti that's a little better. LOL

I think a 1060 Ti would have been smarter... The gap between the 1060 and 1070 is pretty big.

And the "1070 TI" is more like a 1080 SE, has way more in common with the 1080 in terms of design.
