Indexing/search issue, Windows 10

I have laptop which has a SSD C drive and a 1gb D drive for data. I normally plug in a F drive for backup. The F drive has a duplication of my D drive.

In my Windows indexing option, I included both the F and D drive. But the search of my pictures always show what's in F (the back up), but not in D. Actually, none of the pictures (around 30,000 pictures in 50 folders) in D show up. It seems that the indexing excluded D. I have double check the option and all the pictures folders in D are checked.

But if I search the some worksheet or doc files, they would show both in F and D. So D was indexed, just not D:\myName\Pictures.

I have reindexed it multiple times to no avail.

Any suggestion?

Windows 10 search just kinda sucks. Not sure if there's anything you can do to fix that really.

So you have went into the properties of Drive D and made sure that the box for indexing was checked?

What I would do is actually go to the drive properties and allow the indexing there. Right click on d drive and click on properties and then check indexing.

This is what I got right clicked on drive D: Plus, I have no problem with other folders in drive D, only the Pictures folder.

I installed "Everything" and it is exactly what I want. It is a very small app and its lightning fast.
I think it is mainly for search filename only. The content is not part of the search. But for finding what folders a photo is in just by filename, it is great.
