ok so i have this old pc that i got from my dad's work and i really need a new pc
my old pc needs a new cpu, but the socket for the motherboard is outdated and so i need a new motherboard, but its a dell precision t3400 so no newer model of motherboard will fitt in the case *facepalm* and so i need a new case.
i found this case in a computer store near me "inter-tech CM-35 ATX" with a 500w power supply and it costs 100$. i only really want to spend 300$ at most (thats the budget) and thats a third of it gone, but its a start.

the cheapset atx motherboard i could find near me was a "am4 gigabyte ga-ab350-gaming 3 atx rysen" and it is 210$. its a bi much for the budget. (keep in mind i am bying these new.(cuz i dont really want to wait for shipping(and i dont live in the uk or in the us so it takes very very long for shipping)))
and then i found a cpu that costs 100 dollars in the same store as the case. and it costs 2much4me.

then comes the problem with the rest of my pc. i would like to salvage as much as i can from my old pc but i dont know if the pci-e slots are the same generation so i need help with that.. (i dont know a lot about computers. so here is a little rundown on what i have in the old pc.
gpu: nvidia quadro 600
ram: ddr2 6gbytes dual
and then i have this wierd litle in my cpu slot witch i dont know what is.

Just buy a refurb off Ebay or locally, you're wasting money sinking another dime in that thing.

I would go the eBay route if at all possible.

Keep in mind that a new motherboard means you will more than likely have different RAM. Like going from DDR3 to DDR4. Make damn sure you buy a quality PSU. That is the heart of the system and if it goes it could take the whole computer with it.

You simply cannot afford a DDR4 platform with a $300 budget.
