Help buying an affordable, capable laptop

Hi all, so I basically know nothing about computers or anything of the sorts, hence why I’m asking this question. Can anyone guide me to buy an affordable, capable laptop to be used for school and some gaming? Price range is about AUD$1,200 and below. The laptop I currently have is a 4.5 year old Samsung notebook, which has an Intel i5, not nearly capable enough for my needs. Thanks in advance

I can't find out what type of video card that laptop has. You need a least a NVIDIA GTX 970 for VR Chat.

Hmmm, looking at the game requirements for Fortnite, it requires at least a GTX 660. Now that's a desktop GPU. I'm not on the up and up on laptop GPUs. The website GPUboss.com may help. You want a laptop with a really good GPU. I'm not sure what all the retailers are there in Australia. Do you guys have Amazon? Can you post some websites that you would use there so I can find a laptop that should suit you?

The MX150 is a rebadged GT 1030 from what I'm finding. Would probably do decently, link has a benchmark for Fortnite.
