Should i buy another iPhone X or wait for the iPhone 11?

Hello, i recently returned my 256 GB silver iPhone x because of a small hairline crack that appeared on the camera lense (the glass that covers the cameras).

I am going to get a full refund, so im trying to decide weather i should wait to buy a new phone until the iPhone 11 comes out, or just go ahead and buy another iPhone 10. I dont personally care that much which phone i have as far as these two choices, but i would love a professional opinion on this.

THANKS!!

There's your answer.
Well i want to know which would be better in the long run. I would think the iPhone 11 would, but i dont know much about apple as i just switched from android not that long ago.

I also dont mind waiting because i had a iphone 7 laying around so im using that right now.

To be honest I've always been a champion of 'buy what's current' because if you keep on waiting for the next big thing you'll be waiting forever.

Classic case of point: The Samsung S9 came out in March or April, here we are a few months later and I'm already getting emails about a 'new high-end Galaxy' coming out. Pleased I just got the S8 to be honest because if I had waited a bit longer for the S9 and paid about twice for much as I did for my S8 and now be faced with that becoming obsolete a few months later I'd be annoyed. But that's technology for you!

Yeah i guess. I just dont wanna have a "old" iphone when the new one comes out, but than not be able to buy the new one (expensive!). I always just wanna have the newest but thats not always possible these days with phones coming out constantly. Eventually i'll just have to buy a phone and stick with it for 3 or 4 years and than upgrade. So i think the decision comes down to which one i want to use for the next few years, because if i get another iphone X i wont be able to buy another phone for a very long time. I guess ill just wait for the 11.

Thing is that the 11 likely won't be announced until September and not ship for a little while after that. So if you have no phone right now you could be without one for a few months.

Or, you get another iPhone X now and enjoy it.

No point getting hung up over the latest - especially when it comes to phones and when you don't have tons of cash to splash around! As long as it does what you need it to do then it's fine.

I have an iPhone 7 that im currently using.
If that's serving you well then yeah maybe it makes sense to wait until September and see what Apple comes out with next. Unless you desperately want something higher-end now in which case the iPhone X is your only option.

Wait until September then and decide then if you want to upgrade. After all, the iPhone 7 and X run the same OS so the only difference will be the hardware and possibly a slightly different user experience due to the X having a bezelless design.

Considering the iPhone X was the biggest change they've done in a single generation, it's a pretty safe bet the next one won't be hugely different. Most manufacturers for various products do a major change then the following year follow it with a refinement or feature bump without changing too much of the overall design.

Just run with what you've got until it stops doing what you need. I waited until the Galaxy S9 came out and saved quite a bit of money by getting the S8+. Even the S8+ was cheaper than the smaller S9. Design is identical, only changes are slightly bumped internal specs like processor and the adjustable camera aperture. Neither of which are that big of a change, and all flagship phones these days are crazy fast in terms of hardware anyway. There's something to be said for wanting the latest and greatest, but you'd go broke trying to keep up every year, especially if what you're using is more than enough for your current usage.

I got my S8 for about £470 new whereas the S9 was about £800 new. With the change I saved I got a blue ClearView case for my S8, one of the DeX stations, the Samsung wireless fast charger and also a 128GB card for increased storage - and still had a lot left over!

I swore off Samsung after my S3 and the general bloatedness of their OS. After 2 LG's I went for the S8+ and it's by far the best phone I've ever had and felt like the single biggest upgrade between phones. Pretty much every gripe I had with them beforehand (bloated UI, extra useless apps, and general interface) are gone and I definitely will stick with them for my next one. Definitely recommend.

I've seen mine side by side with a friend's iPhone X and my screen looks noticeably better, camera is just as good although depending on the shot some look better or worse between phones. Really just depends. OS and interface of course are preference but you already know that much.

I was a long-time Windows Phone user but have used a lot of Apple and Android handsets over the past year or so - nature of my uni course.

The S8 is by far the nicest phone I have ever used, both in terms of design and software. The Samsung software is gorgeous these days and like Darren I previously wasn't a fan of Samsung because of their software. The last Samsung I wanted before the S8 was the S3, but then I got introduced to Windows Phones and was hooked. The blue ClearView case on my S8 makes it look both futuristic and gorgeous and turns more heads than my bright yellow Nokia 925 and my bright orange Nokia 930 ever did. The case can also be used to access basic functions whilst it is covering the phone, e.g. answering calls, viewing calendar appointments, viewing the time and controlling the music thanks to NFC.

Both my images.

I've used the iPhone X too and whilst it is no doubt a beautiful phone, talking to users of it they seem to love or hate it. The 'notch' is a love or hate thing and some apps respond well to it, others don't. The one criticism that keeps coming up is that the glass body is incredibly slippery and it just slides off surfaces. Not sure if you found that?

Take it from somebody who owned a Nokia 930 and a Microsoft 950 XL (two of the best cameras ever fitted to phones) and is a photography geek, the camera on the S8 is great. Then again, I was impressed by the iPhone X's camera too.

I'm very happy that I chose the S8. I'd definitely consider the S8 (still! It's a bargain now!), S9 or this upcoming new Galaxy if you don't depend on iOS.

That case looks slick and I'm a sucker for blue. Hmmm.
It was about £30 or so for the normal S8, might be a tiny bit more expensive for the S8+. Granted for a phone case it was kinda expensive but it's got functionality - also supports wireless charging too so you can put your phone on any wireless charger and it'll charge even with this case on.

The only negative is sometimes it leaves a thin layer of dirt on the left edge of the phone screen, but not enough to be a huge annoyance or scratch the screen like previous versions of this case did on the S6 and sometimes S7.

Wow thanks for all the comments and advise! The only reason i want to switch back to android is because the customization aspect. I will wait and see what the jailbreak news for iOS 12 is, and if its good, i will probably just go for the iPhone and jailbreak it. If i defiantly wont be able to jailbreak it, I will get a note 9 or s10 or whatever the new Samsung will be called.

Again thanks for all the advice.
