My OS was corrupted, and it wouldnt boot at all. I bought a SATA to USB cable and formatted the HDD from my working computer, and installed linux Mint. Now it wont even boot past the initial startup screen, and when i went to get the hard drive out the RAM was too hot to touch. Why is this happening, and how can i make Linux run?

Looks like your hard drive is toast and, possibly, your RAM. Surprised you managed to install Mingt though.

I tried with two different drives, and with both of them i was able to boot Kali in live mode. but it still wont let me install it.

I would say the pc is toast if the ram is hot. Unless you get your hands on some very cheap ram to test to see if they get hot. Thats not normal.
