Remoting into a VNC Server securely?

Hi,

I would like to VNC into my VNC Server (Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia) from outside of my network SECURELY.

Everything is working meaning I can remote in with VNC viewer to my VNC server, but how do I know it is secure?

I followed this YouTube video but nothing indicates that the connection is secure. How do I know that the connection is secure.

Just run a network sniffer like Wireshark and look at the packets.

To be honest with you, VNV is a very hackable service, so I wouldn't use it. I'd use Teamviewer. They are in fact HIPAA compliant.

Teamviewer even has a smart device App.

Easy, encapsulate the traffic in a VPN tunnel. Your unencrypted traffic becomes encrypted as it traverses an untrusted network and you have additional authentication at the edge prior to connecting.
