I posted this once before and I didnt get much feedback so I'll try again. I suspect someone manually corrupted my computer and may have remote access. I dont need the internet as I use the computer for an inventory and customer database. This person has now strangely enough turned into a competitor. I manually removed the WLAN card. I'll never plug into the internet via cord. Will those measures cut him off with %100 guaranteed certainty? Of course assuming he doesnt have government level espionage tools. Are there other hidden wifi capabilities inside a computer I dont know about. I dont want to buy another computer for this purpose. Thank you for your response .

Removing the ability to connect to the internet removes the ability of being hacked.

Even for "government level espionage tools." Although there are some who would perpetuate this myth.

I don't think you got much response on this as John answered this pretty well last time. About the only other thing from a security stance with a computer is to control the access to the computer. If you have it disconnected from the internet that is great but, if it is sitting out unsupervised for customers to get too then that does you no good either.

Government Level espionage tools do exist, anyone who follows tech news has seen some of the damage caused by government made tools when they enter the hands of the wrong people.

The truth though, very few people have access to those tools and even if this person does you do need to know how to use them. I watch as Hollywood gets this wrong all the time and sets a false perception of how hacking works. It is never a simple one click deal, it is more like any other trade, it is a craft you have to learn and master. So even if this person could find some of these "Government Level Espionage" tools they wouldn't even know what to do with it.

And....

If they do then your screwed. If this person truly has those tools and the skills and wants your business to suffer I would first wonder what you did to piss them off and then secondly advice "quite while your ahead and go back to paper..." :)
