WIndows 10 Do I have hardware bottleneck?

So I played Black Ops 4 with my laptop and I was wondering why I had so many problems with the framerate. I had to go as far as lowering every setting to the minimum and upping the scale just to be able to play the damn thing.

My laptop is a ROG laptop with 16 gb of RAM, a GTX 1060 and an i7-6700HQ (at least I think that's what it is). I can provide the model number and all in the comments if you need more info to tell me if I have a bottleneck anywhere because I'm sure my laptop should be able to run BO4 just fine.

Updated video driver? Are you running on the 1060 or is it running on integrated video? Can check in Nvidia Control Panel.

Has it ever played the game decently? If not, I just don't its cut out for it.
Nonsense. The system requirements are fairly low, like a GTX 660 low. He should be able to play it fine.

Done a virus check? Hard to say really what's going on without just being able to mess with it myself. All other games are fine?

Yeah all my other games run fine. And no BO4 has never run well on my laptop. Mostly why I was asking if it could be because of a bottleneck of some sort. Also because I watched Tech Deals' latest video on overclocking where he talked about bottlenecks.

Your hardware shouldn't be bottlenecking. That's only a factor when certain components are noticeably slower than the rest and hold them back as a result. Laptops generally won't be bottlenecked too much, esp on the higher end, as they're designed to work with the hardware they come with. You've got a software issue somewhere most likely.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. I'm fairly new when it comes to hardware so I'm not too familiar with what can happen if you mix x and y components. Again, thanks for your help and I hope you have a good day!

Hook your laptop up to a second monitor or TV and open task manager and place that on the second monitor. In task manager click on the performance tab and start playing the game on the primary laptop display. How is your CPU, RAM, HDD and GPU displaying while playing? Especially during any points the game is not running so well.

This is a good point, if the game has never run well then it could point to a driver or game issue, but the card should be fast enough to run the game.
If all other games work fine and you don't have any overheating issues then I bet it's a software issue, its a good chance it's got something with the switchable graphics, use msi afterburner to establish whether or not your 1060 is Ramping up and being used, It might be that the game is stuck on the igpu.
