Can I force my phone to go to sleep before I put it in my pocket?

It's an LG V30.

I want to force it to go to sleep before I put it in my pocket. Are there some shortcut keys?

You should be able to do that by pressing the Power button on the back of the phone before you put it in your pocket.

Uh yeah, the lock button locks the phone.
