Is there a device that will BOOST/AMPLIFY an Optimum WiFi Hotspot Signal?

Hi all.

I have Optimum Internet which means I also have access to Optimum WiFi hotspots which are included with my Internet plan.

I'm in a place where I'm able to connect to a relatively weak Optimum WiFI hotspot, but I have to put my laptop right up against the window to do so (and I also have to open the window or it won't appear on my laptop's list of available WiFi networks).

I want to be able to use this Optimum WiFi hotspot all over the place where I'm currently located (a house). Ideally, I would like to be able to use the Optimum WiFi hotspot upstairs and downstairs with no issues in speed or connectivity.

Is there a device that I can buy from a store like Amazon/Wal-Mart/Best Buy/etc. that will BOOST/AMPLIFY this Optimum WiFi signal so that I will be able to use this Optimum WiFi hotspot as I mentioned above? Can anyone name any specific devices that would work for this?

Thank you for any help you can provide with this issue.

Wifi range extender. The key issue will probably be getting an initial connection, and keeping it connected. I would make sure it is as close to the source as possible. There are phone tools for testing wifi connection strength. I use wifianalyzer. Good luck

If you already have Optimum to your house, why do you need to connect to some other Optimum SSID?

Are there details that I'm missing which would make connecting to your own SSID a lesser-approved move?

Some extenders may work, realistically you can use an access point in client mode or similar. Detachable antennas with higher gain ones probably work better for that purpose.

I have Optimum service at my house (with a router and everything), but I really want to take advantage of an Optimum WiFi hotspot a few blocks away at another location. At this location there is no router set up so I figured I could just use the Optimum WiFi hotspot here since Optimum WiFi hotspots are included in my Internet service plan anyway. I figured since I could connect to the Optimum WiFi hotspot signal over here, I just could use some kind of device to amplify said hotspot so that I could use it in more areas over here. Currently, I can connect to this hotspot, but I have to have my laptop fairly close to the window for it to show up. I believe there's a solution here involving the use of some kind of device.
