Questions about Chrome OS

Hello all. I'm a mac user generally speaking, but thinking about picking up a Chromebook for mobile use. In particular I'll be using it to connect to projectors and deliver powerpoint presentations.

I know NOTHING about how this works. Have never given a presentation with a laptop in my life. And I'm also not terribly familiar with google (I use libreoffice for most things). Am I making a mistake considering a Chromebook? I guess that's question #1 lol.

More specifically though, are these chromebooks easy to connect to projectors? Wirelessly, or do I need to invest in cables or something?

Also, can I use google slides to put together these presentations? Does google slides work nicely with peripherals such as projectors?

Anything else I should know?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Google Slides is actually quite good for presentations. It isn't as feature filled as the MS equivalent, Powerpoint, but has a surprising amount of use considering it's all online. Keep in mind many features of a Chromebook are online only, however there are offline versions of Docs, Slides, etc. I am unsure if you can connect to the projector wirelessy, but if you get a Chromebook with a video out port (most likely HDMI) then you can connect to the projector that way.
