I performed a reset on my galaxy pro tab s which which then automatically starts to reinstall Windows. I reinstalled windows, (200% I didn't set a password) then installed all the drivers and everything was great until one of the windows updates broke it and now it blue screens trying to load windows. No problem I thought just reset it again, but the damn thing is asking me for my username and password, a password I never set so of course I don't know it and leaving it blank does not work. Also I can't get the get the computer to recognise any of my usb sticks through the usb c to usb a adapter, so booting from a usb stick is a no go, any ideas plz?

I don't know whether you can do this with a Galaxy Tab ( I don't see why not though.) You are obviously on the web with some device so go to:-

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

Download the ISO and make a bootable USB drive from that ISO. You, hopefully, can use the USB drive to reinstall Win 10. You will have to choose "boot from alternative drives" at boot up. That's F12 on an ordinary computer. Choose the USB drive and it should boot from that and re-install Windows, hopefully. It works on my computers but none of mine are a Galaxy Tab.

This was the plan, but like I said the tab doesn't see any of my usb's, Im guessing it's an issue with the adapter/hub.

Okay I assumed that your Tab wasn't working at all and you were using an alternative to post on here. In that case it looks like you will have to find an alternative to download that software. I cannot think of any other ways other than resetting the Tab which you say you cannot now do.

Have you tried just hitting enter when it prompts for a password, meaning leave it blank.

Yes I did, I just don't understand why it's asking for one, I know I didn't set one and when I do I always use the same one and that's not working, so clearly I didn't set one up. Does windows have any default passwords I don't know about?

Nope. Was there ever a Microsoft Account attached to it? I kinda feel like I've seen this before but it's been a while and easily remedied with a clean wipe (which I guess you can't do without USB).

I got to say that every once in a while on pcs with no passwords set that some updates will cause a login screen that needs a password. Its a screwed up update. All you have to do is go back to previous build. Is there a recovery option available?

Nope, I have never linked any account. Well that was the best part of a 1000 euros for only a couple of years of use .

All the options that make changes to the OS are now behind that damn password, the only thing I can think of is buying a usb memory stick and seeing if the bios will detect it.

Does it have a keyboard? You can boot to advanced recovery by pressing and holding shiftkey while clicking on restart. It's happened to me once or twice and I've had to deal with it for a couple clients but its random.

Yes, i can get into advanced recovery and I can see my account, but I think every option requires a password and safe mode isn't working.

Ok, I can see the reset without keeping files doesnt need a password, but just to troll me it instantly tells me there was a problem while resetting your pc.

I messed around in the bios to see if I could trigger some sort of samsung recovery and I actually got lucky, changing the boot mode from uefi to csm resulted in the system being unable to find a boot device and a prompt to launch samsung recovery which then rebuilt the drive, after that I just needed to change it back to uefi and set a password this time ;)

Thx for your time and help guys :)
