Crazy page file growth!

Hi All, I'm having a strange problem I've never encountered before. When I first boot my Win10 machine, I have about 17-18GB of disk storage space. After about 2 hours (oless), my page file has grown considerably to the point where my storage is out of space and my system crashes. A reset is the only option at this point. I'm not running anything too RAM intensive (Chrome always takes up the most memory and I'm only doing desktop work), so I'm not sure what's happening. I suspect there may be a memory leak, but am not sure how to detect it or what would be causing it. I don't suspect malware or such as I have done scans recently. I have the option, "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" check in the System properties. This happens everytime I use my machine. I have 8GB of DDR4 RAM and and 240GB SSD. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

What programs are you using to scan for malware? So all you have is a 240gb SSD and no storage drive? If you only have the 240gb SSD and only have 17-18 gb free then you have a problem, thats only 7 percent free space which is very bad.

Hey, I'm using Malwarebytes to scan for issues. I've had low storage on my drive before and it's been fine, but never an issue with rapid page file growth. Yes, Only a 240GB SSD.

The problem being is that the page file is usually 1.5 times the amount of physical memory you have. So if you have 8gb of ram then the page file is minimum 12gb. Are you using any memory intensive programs? Use task manager to see how much physical ram is being used when you are doing your most heaviest load. If you are using more then 80 percent, then its time to add more ram. And I still say you need to get a storage drive and move all your personal files to that drive.
