Is EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Black Edition GAMING worth it? or get another model?

I currently found a person willing to sell me an EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Black Edition for $400. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. However I was wondering if it was worthwhile spending an extra $80 to $100 for a different model or not? I know the FTW3 is one of the top tier models for the 1080 Ti but they cost around $550 on eBay, that's $150 more than the Black Edition.

Should I go ahead and just buy the EVGA 1080 Ti Black Edition before he sells it? I'll be upgrading from an RTX 2060 I don't care at all for RTX Technology by the way and I'll be using it just for gaming at 1080p.

Appreciate the input guys.
Thanks

There may be a slight difference in temperature, but I don't think it's significant enough to spend $150 more on.

Unless you plan on pushing the beans out of the FTW3 card under watercooling... I wouldn't bother with the FTW3 card.

Excellent suggestions guys. I actually ended up doing some research and looked up some benchmarks (Gamer Nexus) and the difference in FPS performance between FTW3 and lower end cards of the same model is only 1 or 2 FPS. That being said I ended up purchasing the cheaper option and saved my self $50

Just excited to get it. Should be here by Monday next week. Sure I mine don't have RGB but I am fine with that I use my rig with White LED only and already have 1 White LED exhaust fan so it works perfect.

In my experience the drivers will auto overclock anyway and kind of negate the boost clocks listed by different versions.

Kinda takes the fun out of it honestly. :p I tried some manual overclocking and it always performing worse than if I just left it alone and cranked up the power limit.
Really? I haven't had that experience. With my RTX 2060 I get about 8-10 FPS boost maybe with Manual overclocking.
