Cannot stop indexing in Windows 10

Hi,
Well, the title pretty much says it. I have disabled the Windows Search, but the check mark still appears in the C: drive properties box. When I remove the check mark and 'Apply', it goes throught it's thing, as if it's removing the indexing; but then, when I close the properties box and reopen it, there's the check mark again, in the allow indexing option. I don't know if this is just some sort of glitch, and the indexing is actually diabled or ???
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
....... john

I think the days of tweaking are still alive. In fact, with Windows 10 I'd almost argue it's neccesary if you want any amount of privacy.

That thing with privacy is a whole load of crap!
If you use google you have no privacy at all, even less if you use chrome or has it installed..

The privacy in Windows 10 is adjustable.. All you need to do is to set it correctly for both the system, your Administrative account and for your own, personal, account..

And that is a fact, I (and several others) did study this as part of my work.. Just go through all the privacy settings WHEN you install your computer and you get it right once and for all...

And, please stop howling "WOLF" when you have not even checked how a wolf looks like.. (The tinfoil hats that you must have been listening to are seldom right....) in this case you are barking up the wrong tree! :D (if I may say so...!)

Leave it default. Clean install on a monthly basis, script all configs, have separate partition for all software with a copy of desktop items to use for new builds. Update an image for the purpose and put it on USB3.1 with all latest drivers. After that, use networking tools on the LAN to WAN interface to prevent MS finding stuff (e.g. pfsense).

Umm... what now? I'm not entirely sure what this means and what you are even referring to.
