Buyer Advice

I am replacing My Dell XPS 8500 and cannot decide which desktop to purchase. I am undecided between the Alienware 9th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 9700 and the HP Envy TE01-0175xt (Intel Core i7-9700 3 GHz Base frequency, 4.7 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 12 MB cache, Octa core (Coffee Lake-R). I am not interested in gaming, but more concerned in speed and reliability. No, I don't want to build my own (too much trouble and risky). Any assistance will be appreciated.

This reason: Intel Core i7 processors generally have faster base clock speeds, or in other words they have more Ghz. ... A higher number means better performance, as the i5-6500 is faster than the i5-6400. BTW, I was asking for advice in purchasing a specific machine. Thanks.

If you're not gaming, and you didn't mention video editing or bitcoin mining, what do you need the speed for? An i5 would be more than enough for streaming video from YouTube. All other is limited by your connection speed which is a lot slower than i5.

Maybe you can enlighten us what you do that needs the speed?

Thanks for your cogent reply. That is the way I am leaning. I have read some of the reviews about HP that makes me skeptical. I am inclined to purchase the following: Alienware Aurora Gaming Desktop 9th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 9700 (8-Core, 12MB Cache, up to 4.7GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology)
