Please help me choose between these 2 Lenovos

Hello,

So it stands between two different computers so I would need some tips

1. Lenovo Legion Y540 17 '' with 1660 Ti, i5, 8gb RAM, 256gb SSD and 1tb HDD
1090$

2. Lenovo Legion Y540 15 '' with RTX 2060, i7, 16gb ram, 1tb SSD
1300$

My budget was supposed to be around 10k and I initially wanted a 17 '' screen but the other 15 '' has better specs and I think it will last longer?
I want a computer I can keep for at least 5 years and maybe no2 is a better option.

But I also think if no2 may get higher temperatures when playing demanding games, you may know this better than I do.. What i've read the i7 isnt so necessary but I might have got it all wrong.

Would be nice to receive some tips and thoughts on which one is most value for the money.

(Im no hardcore gamer but I want an allround computer that I can play games on, and that will keep up for a couple of years)

If you want longevity then definitely go the i7 route. Quite a bit better specs for not a whole lot more (relatively)

Thanks for the quick response! How about the temperature, is it going much warmer on the i7? If yes, do you know if the fans replaceable on this computer? (if they give up earlier than expected)

Also, is the GPU and CPU on #2 going to make any noticeable difference compared to no1?

Every laptop is designed by the manufacturer to work with the hardware they put in it. Yes on paper the i7 will produce more heat (unsure on 2060 vs 1660TI) but even then the system is designed for it. The i7 likely has a slightly better cooling setup. If you're worried about temps getting a cooling pad, which I personally would do with any high end laptop I planned to use heavily.

I'm not up to speed on GPU's quite as well. Google 1660 TI vs 2060 laptop and you'll probably find some hits.
