Can a Li-Ion Battery Replace a Ni-Mh Battery??

I have an old Inspiron 2200 with a almost dead Ni-Mh battery.
Type P5413.

Can I replace this with a Li-Ion Battery and will it work with the internal charging system???

I have a lead on this one in ebay:
.......... replace T5443,w5543 Li-ion 14.8v 5200mah/77wh

OR, where can I get a used one that will last for a while.........

Just make sure its has same voltage and amp ratings as original. Also, something about updating the bios to latest version when going from Nimh to LIon. Might want to contact Dell.

Those 2 battery types have different recharging requirements and are NOT interchangeable.
