Will a new WIFI card fix my WIFI dropping issues?

I have a DELL Inspiron 5675 out in the garage that keeps dropping the WIFI and I have to reboot to get it back.

Ran every type of malware and virus program possible and it does not find an issue.

I've checked the drivers and it is all up to date with no faults.
The hareware is functional, it just does not want to receive.

Thinking of adding a new WIFI card to the computer.

It has an open PCIe slot.

OK, here is the question:

Do you think that adding a high quality WIFI card will stop my WIFI from dropping out?

If so, why brand of WIFI card would you recommend?
Also,

How do I turn off the motherboard WIFI permanently if I install a WIFI card?>

It's possible if the existing wifi is going bad. Are you sure its got the right driver installed? Whats the name of the wifi card currently? Check what it says under network adapters.

All you do is disable the onboard wifi card through device manager.

The existing WiFi hardware under "Neetwork Adapters" is:
Qualcomm QCA61xfa 802.11ac

I've double checked the driver and it is correct and up to date.

there are also 3 Microsoft WiFi Direct Virtual Adapters?

According to Dell, the latest driver for that is 4 years old. version 12.0.0.697, A14 dated june 11th 2018. The other Microsoft entries is fine. You just need the main driver.

So I would suggest buying a new AC pcie wifi adapter.

OK, got the card and was looking how to disable the little qualcomm WiFi card and came across this.
Under power management, (for the qualcomm WiFi card), the box was checked that said:
"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
Would this explain why, when I go to start my next day I don't have WiFi?
I have unchecked the box and will wait a few days to see what happens...

Also, another glitch on "maybe" installing the new TP-Link WiFi card.
When I disable my Qualcomm WiFi card, it seems it will also disable my Blue Tooth.
The new TP-Link card has to plug into a "F USB" on the motherboard for Blue Tooth.
My Motherboard does not have a spare USB plug in.
So no Blue Tooth?

If you have to use the new card then you can still leave the old one enabled, just disconnect and forget all networks so it doesn't try connecting to anything.

That power management setting might be the issue, but would think if the connection was active then it wouldn't disconnect. But who knows.

and I have to reboot to get it back
It might help, usually that's a device level problem. Sometimes updating the driver helps, sometimes it doesn't.

What new card did you get? Most integrated wifi cards also have bluetooth. You can leave it enabled as a device but disable it from network connections if you still want to use the bluetooth functionality. The new card you listed should also support bluetooth, however. You might need to install the driver with it.

OK, good news, my computers internet has not dropped off ever since I changed the setting for the qualcomm card.
Turns out that my computer was turning off the card to save powerovernight. Stupid computer. Stupid me...

Good to hear. it's weird thaAttach filest windows would automatically set it to turn off that device. Maybe has something to do with the power plan setting.
