what do you think come the end of this year getting will be necessary to really stay up to pace in terms of gaming and technology on a computer basis only? as far as my system, i'm thinking a dx10 compliant card and vista will do it, although i'm wondering if my cpu will make it or not...

i think as far as technology and computer, its impossible to stay current and up to date because new technology are developed daily, weekly, monthly...

The generic answer for that is "stuff that isnt out yet" :) For the AMD side of things, it really is hard to commend (with the as-yet unreleased sockets) and with Intel pushing for 45nm products for 2007 (and a few companies doing research on 19-22nm tech) it's pretty hard to pindown something like that IMO

in this world of computers all comuters are outdate as sone as you hand the payment to the salesman. computers are the fastest things to cange in the world. you can build the top of the line computer and as soon as you finished it is all ready out dated becuse the is something out here that is faster than what you just bought.the most people can do is keep their curent computers and use them util the don't work with all the stuff out on the market that will force them to upgrade or buy a new computer. everyones computer is outdate. there is no way to stay updated with the tecnolgey at the pace it is going right now. maybe in the futer that will change but that will be long time from now.all we can do is try to keep up with ever changeing market.

well, im gonna say a must have for gaming this year would be the new socket due to be released from AMD, the newly crowned AM2 socket, along with perhaps on eof the forecosted AMD 64 5000+ chips..... This new socket is also set to comply with DDR2 so thats probably in the mix aswell, but thats in the first 2 quarters of 2006, by the end of the year, as praetor said, it could all change and even be down to the microscopic 22nm, (my god those traces are gonna be tiny)
