Windows Media player to AVI converter!!

Could someone tell me whether there are any free programs out there which can convert Windows media video files to AVI files, so they'll write to a DVD disc?

so ur saying ur wmv is protected cuz i can just write them to a dvd.

Well you can just rename wmv files to .mpg and they will run fine in a player; ignoring any error that might come up. Then I just take the mpg file and run it through TMPGEnc to make an mpg that can be burned to disc.
