Big Problem

Alright where should I start  . I bought an acer aspire e360(amd 64 3800 dualcore , 2x512 of pc3200 ram , windows xp and upgraded to a pci-e evga 6800gs) about 3 weeks ago and it was running fine in the beginning until I installed gamexp which screwed up my windows and the only way to fix it was to use my "eRecovery" disc that I burned when I got it. Well , after I did that i've been using ALOT of memory (200-300k+) that I cant acount for . I added up all my processes that im running in task manager and it comes out to about 215k but then I look at the performance tab and it says I only have around 480k available out of my 1gig. Where is all this ram being used???!!! I think that when I used my eRecovery disc it just put another windows xp over this one? If that is the case how can I tell if im running this os over the old one? Or could the problem be something else?

ps

sry for the spelling it's 1am
