Hello.

My rig is pretty dusty inside and it could use a much better dustiing job then just spraying air into the midddle of it...

If I were to take out EVERY piece and disconnect them from everything, including the motherboard from the case, the hdd from the mobo, EVERYTHING...and dusted each piece and then replaced and rewired everything the way it was, would that mess it up at all?

p.s. i dont plan to remove the cpu, cpu fan, or ram...

Thanks!:D

All should be fine if you take basic percautions.

You must be in one dusty enviornment if the system in your sig is that dusty already.

LoL.... yeah, its defintely not the comp in my sig... ><

But my comp is 2003, and although I do regularly dust it, its not perfected how i'd like....

I just usually get the hose from the vacuum and spray the canned air inside so the dust picks up and gets sucked up by the vacuum

Do not EVER use a vacuum cleaner... EVER!!! Vaccuum cleaners build up an electrostatic charge at the end of the nozzle which can easily fry the delicate components on a mobo... I can't stress this enough.. NEVER use a vacuum cleaner!!! lol

Pffft you can use a vacuum, I've never had a problem. Obviously you dun touch or get close to the motherboard or anytihng like that. I usually just clean all the loose dust i can from a distance.

Taking every component out is a pain in the a**. What I did with a really old computer is I first took a high powered duster and went through the entire computer. Then I took a paper towel (dry, not wet!) and I whiped the rest of the stubborn dust off.

And when you got it all cleaned and ready to go find a better place to put it. If you have it on the floor find a crate or something and raise it up. This should help reduce the dust entering your case.

There is a special vacuum around for cleaning pc's. I just use a invisible air can to dust it all towards a area where their are no components then vacuum it with the hoover so it doesnt affect the components

i just take it out to my 60 gallon air compressor and shoot it down with the air nozzel at about 30 psi.... works great and doesnt build up static.
