So, I was viewing another forum. A link was put up of the latest Crysis trailer release, and it made me salivate even more at the thought of the video game. Anyways, it was stated that the game was being run on a machine with x1950 XTX's in crossfire. Some parts were getting choppy even, indicating a drop below ~35 frame rates. (We all know that it is disputable what frame rate threshold is for each person, but for most its 30-40 frame rates playable. )
My question is: This was emulating DX10 effects on the DX9c cards, right? Now G80 is BUFF when it comes to games, both DX9 and DX10 from prelim benches (Apparently some Scandanavian fellow isn't very good at keeping his NDA) as well as sheer paper tech facts. Will a GTS be capable of powering Crysis at an acceptable level? This is the first game I have looked forward to in a LONG time (since being let down by Deus Ex 2, and waiting for Halo 2/360 action). So, I am willing to early adopt a 8800GTS to play the game (along with other hardware upgrades). I was planning on waiting for the equivilent of today's 7600GT, but if its not on the market yet - I won't wait, I'll finance.
Anyways, as always - your opinions please.
