I have an old winsdows me laptop and would like to run it for the internet and thats all. i know what support has stopped and it did in june but the question i have is. can i still safely run it on the internet?

it's junk software, but I suspect it may work fine for the internet. Double check on security issues though--as shoddy as that piece was, I bet it has some security loopholes.

Yeah should be fine aslong as you have antivirus and a decent firewall.

I used to have Me on a older comp too on Dial up:D

Yeah i was gonna upgrade it too on my old system but the comp stopped working...I suspected the hard drive died or something so i just got another computer and it had Windows 2000 Pro on it anyway.

common, you gatta give creadits to ME for its fastest boot up time..
unlike 2000, which is one of the slowest one i've ever used..
and i suppose xp is medium...
oh ya, vista of course is really sloW.,.

yesss, i have 2 admit, 2000 is sooo ****ing slowww!!, XP on my Latitude, and GX110 start really fast, i know the start up speed is from the HDin my GX110, dont know about the Latitude..

thanks guys. im going to try it out as soon as i rig it up and i'll let's ya know if it works. its got a 4gb hdd. amazing!

WINDOWS ME is good if you're lazy on finding all the drivers to download. it should have all or most of the drivers for the hardware already.

Even better! :D now thats what i like to hear! im really lazy and just need it for internet and email. are many programs compatible with Me? like firewalls and such? also would i be able to use the latest media player with it?
