SpyBot SD 1.3

McAfee Vshield found a virus i forgot the name it was something.worm and it was located in spybot's update folder it had its own file so i don't think it was a part of an update any one had this hapen to them to? :confused:

I wonder if it could be to do with the definition files. I wonder if there is a line in the definition files which makes it appear as a worm to some virus scanners after all it contains names of worms, trojans, etc.

thats what i thought two. but the fact that it had it's own file made me wonder so i deleted it when VShield asked me to and then the program just stoped working completly so i had to reboot.

SpyBot contains virus?

Click on your SpyBot icon and go to Help. Then go to FAQ. Near the bottom of the list your question and it's answer.

Also to be sure your Spybot hasnt been infected or something, you could uninstall it, do your virus scan and reinstall. That way you'd know if the "virus" was really just the SpyBot definition file or not
