AMD or INTEL?

The Intel Core 2 Duo is the best processor for pretty much any budget, but if you want the best of the best, the Core 2 Extreme Quad is the best.

if I were to list it it would go amd quad, intel quad (extreme), intel core2duo, amd whatever the x2 line.

You mean Intel, Pentium is just a model of processor :)

I think everyone here is saying what they prefer, but I believe he's asking which is better. And Intel is better performance wise.

not true, i personally prefer AMD, and i don't even know why anymore :p... but i stated the better manufacturer at this time :)... and intel rules the market...

Whats not true? The Core 2 Duo (especially the quad), outperforms the FX-62 in everything except for the sciencemark memory test.

think you missed goosy's point there omega

you had stated "everyone here is saying what they prefer"

to which goosy replied "not true" (as in its not everyone)

as he then explained he prefers AMD but had stated that Intel was the best at the moment

It depends on when you buy Amd won't release any thing new it tell sometime in 2007 intel has the best CPU's out there right now
