ok well my parts got here today and ive put them all in

i went from 3200+ 939 venice to a 4200+ AM2 Windsor, from a A8N-E to a M2N-SLI Deluxe, from 1 gig of ddr ram to 2 gigs on ddr2 ram.

CPU-Z says i have 2 gigs of ram and that i have the cpu in. cpu runs at 2.2 ghz stock and CPU-Z says may core speed is 2210 which basically is 2.2 ghz.

My comp takes so long to turn on now. my monitor flickers off and on when its booting up (used to do it but that was suspost to happen dunno why now) it also makes a weird noise when turning on. its like something is starting to turn on then clicks off.

Windows made me reactivate it sence there was such a drastic hardware change...that normal?

and no sound works at all.

[EDIT] also i forgot to add that the mobo didnt come with a IDE cable for my cd drive so i used the HDD cable. is that the cause of this?

I assume you're using a copy of windows from your old PC? On the same HD? IT's pretty common to have some problems. I'm suprised you even got it to boot. I suspect reloading your computer would solve most all of the problems.

Is the monitor flickering on and off during post or during the windows boot process?

No sound...No drivers?

And IDE cable is an IDE cable...

ok i flashed the bios to the newest one released and poped in the CD that came with the mobo and installed the sound drivers but now i cant seem to get my headset to work. the 5.1 speakers work fine but before all i had to do was unplug the one for the l/r front speakers and put in the one for my headset and it worked fine and was all loud n good. but now if i do that i get nothing. I plug it into the black port (same color as the headset connector) and everything is all mono and soft and the mic wont work. any suggestions?

[EDIT] also i use ventrilo and whenver you speak it normally makes a clicking sound or something to say that your mic is activated i cannot hear that sound anymore :-/

Reinstall windows, and then make sure to install all the drivers for your motherboard.
