I download all my music, and im sure many of you do as well. How do you sort and play your music?

I either just dump is straight on to my Ipod, and play my ipod through my stereo with one of the casset adapter things, Or burn them on to normal audio CD's

I hope you pay for your downloaded music from a reputable distributor, since discussing anything else would be against the Forum Rules.

In answer to your question, I keep my music collection on my pc, organised through iTunes. It's a system hogger, but I prefer its clean look to WMP or others. My pc is my stereo, and I have no need to burn music to cd.

I have my music physically organized rather than just through a media player. I use MediaMonkey to organize all my mp3s into this formula D:/My Music/<artist>/<album>/<track>.mp3 so in my music folder they are in their own folders by artist album and the mp3 is the track name. MediaMonkey also downloads album covers automatically and updates the ID3 tags on the mp3s. I use winamp to play my collection since It is hardly a system hog and is quite fast at searching through my collection and updating new tracks and it is pretty organized, or at least enough for me.

i basically have all my music in one folder, arranged by the artists name. it has worked for me for quite a while.

I sort my music by artist name. All folders within have the year first - title album, then of course the songs for that album.

organize music? What a stupid idea....

Mine is all discombobulated. I can never find anything. But I have like 20GB of it, so I'm not too eager to organize it.

Mine isnt exactly organized, a lot of it is in a temp folder and the rest is archived in My Music, but tbh it doesnt mean anything whether you organise it all or not, as long as you have the library well mapped out in whatever media player your using you dont need o have it organized...

I never used those ID tags or anything... Most of my music is simply "Artist - Title.mp3" Then I usally arrange by date. Normally I listen to the newest songs I get over and over again ;)

every single Mp3 I have is tagged correctly to list the album, artist, track name and any other useufl info I need.

Its then spread alphabetically and by genre across 3 external 300 gb HDD which I keep safely locked away, only bring them out when they need updating :)

Mines organized with all tag info(I did it for my Zen so it's easier to use)and a letter and dash at the beginning of each songs denotes genre/play list since it's easiest for me.

Before I rip my music from CDs I get the album info. I usually play my songs randomly through Creative Mediasource (it uses less resources).

I just keep mine in two folders. One for "all mp3s" which is just random songs and the other is "mp3 albums" which is the complete album. For those, I have the album cover as the icon. I think it just gives it a nice look. Also, I play everything through itunes

I dont really organize it, its all on iTunes, but i do have a folder of recent downloads that i usually listen to more. Then when the songs get old and im bored of them, i dump them in a different folder.

One day i locked myself in my study with food and drink rations and sat down for many many many hours and tagged all of my 55gb of music (around 12,500 mp3's)...and now they are all on my second hdd in "Music" then in subfolders going artist then album then Title...

i only did it for my Zen because normally i just let Winamp media library sort it all out for me :D
