How to keep a prescott 3.6 cool?

Hey gang, i just recently moved my hp m1090n into an antec p180b, which is a nice quiet case, but now i can hear my cpu cooler SCREAMING over everything else, and it's OBNOXIOUS!

Anyways, i tried using speedfan to quiet it down some, but if i turned the fans down below 60% or so, my temps were QUICKLY climbing over 80 degrees, and making their way to 90!

So apparently turning fan speed down is NOT an option with the stock cooler.

Does anyone know a QUIET aircooler than can keep this POS cool?

I'm starting to understand why intel pulled this chip, and went back to 3.2 for the prescotts, it's HOT!

I don't have any control over my multipliers or FSB, either, so down-tuning it is not an option, either.

Anyone have a solution for me? I really don't want to invest in water cooling, cause some time this year i'm going to get a quad, but just want this computer to be quiet in the meantime, so i'm not looking to spend TOO much money on it.

Cheap, quiet, cool, anything out there?

i know, it's a joke

the p180b's supposedly one of the quietest cases in existance, the thing's completely sound deadened, and i can hear my cpu fan ROARING

if i'm laying in bed watching a movie at night, i'll have to turn the volume up, and then back down to compensate for when it switches between 60% and 100% fan speeds.

Ridiculously noisy.

The sound level is ok...I have it on high and it's pretty loud if you have no other sounds going on like a TV, but if you're playing music or have the TV on then you'll hardly hear it.

i think that's more of a high-performance cooler

i can deal with cpu temps being ~50-60, so long as it's quiet

i don't think i need anything quite that cool

i wanna forget i'm watching movies on a computer, having to adjust my volume for fan noise is unacceptable

This one is bit more of a medium-end HSF...I have it on my other computer (P4 Prescott 2.4) and it idles at ~36.

Big Typhoon, Ninja, Katana, etc with overvolted fans will do the trick too
