Is 1.6vcore for my e6600 going to kill its life?

I wouldn't say that is the most sensible idea. What are your running temps? Why would you want to run it so high anyway?

because i cant overclock my cpu more with lower votages. So does the vcore kill the cpu or the temps?

Well, first of all, how high of an OC are we talking about here? You shouldn't need more than 1.4v's for 3.5Ghz and below...

Well, voltage is more likely to kill a cpu rather than heat, that is getting dangerous, it's more about how much you want to risk vs how much more performance you get.

There is really no way of determining that, it is just high compared to those here who have OCed. What are your temps? Idle and under Load?

41 idle and about 62 at load at 1.6 and at 356 fsb with 1.485 i get 33 idle and 53 load

so what the cpu is going to crap out on me?Man you dont know what this cpu was reaching it was in the high 70C and it was fine but little smoke came out but it was all good

If a little smoke came out, that isn't good!

Just lower your FSB and Voltages to something say, in the high 40's - low 50'sc (LOAD)...

Why don't you just set everything back to default and just increase the FSB a little bit each time untill you find something good and stable... Don't want to fry a new CPU do you!

Mine idles at 29-31 and under load at most it gets up 42-44. So it does seem high to me as far as temps, but in most cases voltage is what will cause damage. If you are asking if I would do it, no, I would not. But it is your money and your risk, you need to determine if it is worth it.

i dont care i just asked you a question and i want the answer thats it so can someone answer the questions does 1.6 vcore at 60c going to kill my cpu or its high but cpu will be fine.

I don't think many people are going to help you if you talk like that...

Why don't you find out and tell us!

my stable oc is the one in my sign at 1.485 and i am not happy because in order to go ANYHIGHER i need high vcore and i tried everything.

In that case, running a Conroe @ 1.6v is going to do more harm than good.

I can't give you an estimate of its lifespan correct to the nanosecond. All I can say is that its life will be decreased quite significantly.

The chips are designed to run at 1.325v, not 1.6v. Use your brain.
