Is 1.6vcore for my e6600 going to kill its life?

when ever it starts to smoke...and my god man, you want an answer? here's one you can use, YES YOUR GOING TO KILL YOUR CPU! WHAT DO YOU THINK? ANY OC SHORTENS THE LIFE SPAN OF A CPU! YOU ASK IF GOING TO INSAINLY HI SPEEDS IS GOING TO KILL IT ALONG WITH A SPUPIDITY FULL OF UPING VOLTAGE! NO DUH! YES YES YES, IT WILL KILL YOUR CPU!

Ok, maybe a slight overkill with the capitals...

Anyway, DKdeadly, sorry for being a bit of an idiot back then. On a more serious note, I would recommend you do not run your CPU @ 1.6 vCore. You are going to damage your CPU beyond repair. Especially if you see smoke coming from the computer. Running at 1.6v's will signifactly reduce the lifespan of your computer/CPU. No one can give you an exact estimate. When you overclock, it's more of a trial and error process.

yes I'm at stock voltages, and also, I'm not over doing it. I know that it wont last as long as stock speed, but I know when it becomes overkill. what your trying to do is just that. Almost everyone with an E6300 is at this speed, we all have knowledge on that speed, but your going to an unknown zone which is unknown for a reason, ITS DANGORIOUS!

they dont get better performance because they have only 2mb

Yes, you're right. But I can guarantee you wouldn't notice the difference without the use of a benchmarking program.

Anyway, read my previous post DKdeadly, because I think what with all these posts flying around, you might not have got to read it.

you HE HAS AN E6300, IT'S MORE OC'ABLE THAN THE E6600, YOU GET THE PERFORMANCE WITHOUT THE PRICE!

So the e6300 gets the same performance as the e6600

And rambo i did read it but anyway people with water cooling have 1.6vcore with 4ghz +

I doubt it too, Is there a noticable performance increase when OC'ing an E6300 from stock?

Look, DKdeadl just try putting everything back to normal and raise the FSB a little, You'd probably get the performance people who OC their E6300's without doing any OC'ing yourself...

I didn't say they performed better, I was implying that you get near enough the performance without the price.

doesn't matter, we cant help you. Its not that we dont want to, its because we have never gone that far because its dangerous! Your temps are well past threshold, your voltage is too high, your asking a question you should know the answer to by instinct.

I think you misunderstood what Kornowski was saying. He meant that when the E6300 was overclocked the 3.0Ghz, you get (comparably) the same performance as an E6600, but for a much cheaper price.

i tried everything i just probably got a bad stepping.I cant get pass 3ghz without increasing the volt really high i tried putting the vcore lower and putting my ram timings to higher and i have the ram set to 1:1.vmch i got upto 1.65 and vfsb to 1.5 but nothing cant get it stable.

Have you tried updating the BIOS?

You do know you can damage parts, not just the CPU, when you OC incorrectly? Right? Well, you may have damaged something and is preventing you from going any further.

Exactly, thank's Rambo. :p

I don't know why you aren't happy with the E6600 stock speeds, they're well 'n' truely good enough!
