Quoted straight from the steam website on the CounterStrike: Source details page

Minimum: 1.2 GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, DirectX 7 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP/ME/98, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: 2.4 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

So basically, it will install and run fine, but you really wont have it looking nice at all and it will be a bit jerky... from what i can gather your graphics card is only DX8 which is a major drawback in this case

your software level is at DX9, yes, so will almost everyones be... i dont know if anyone can confirm what DX level the card is at... i think its 8, there are 2 diff levels, hardware and software.

*EDIT* - Some sources are stating your card is only DirecX 7.0, which is an even bigger drawback

I strongly suggest at least a graphics card update. If you can spare £60-£70 it would benefit you immensely

Yes it will install. No it will not run CLOSE to decent, at all, even at the lowest DirectX level, lowest resolution, and lowest detail settings.

I ran it on my old system on low-medium graphics:

P4 1.8Ghz
256mb. RAM
64 mb. GeForce2 MX400

So i bet you can do it too :p

haha, you should try getting a little more ram for like, 20$ I think you can get some low class, up to a 1 gig for about that, that will help out a lot, and maybe a new video card for like 40$ and it will run gooddddd.

Do you have all your settings turned down low? Using a low DX, like 7? My friends old rig (celeron 1ghz, 256 of ram, mx440) could run it with at least 30 fps. With the source engine being coded so well, its not to far off (looking wise) from an 7900 and a core 2 duo.
