Sleep / Stand-By

ok so the other day i baught a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse.

i plug it all in and stuff. then when im done i hit the sleep button on the keyboard, but my computer doesnt sleep! it like turns of then turns back on instantly. i figured out it was the usb that was stoppin it from turnin off. so i took it out and thaught maybe the keyboard will work with-out the USB plugged in. well of course the keyboard did, but the mouse didn't. s

so is there anyway of puttin my machinery to sleep without taking out the usb from the back?

i dont think u get it dude..

i dont get what youre getting at? how can the keyboard work without being connected :S?

what USB are you talking about? try and make more sense of it and we might be able to help

ok. i baught my keyboard. it has a serial connector that goes in the back. and a usb cable that goes in the back. now my comp is weird. everytime there is a usb in the back it doesnt sleep. but the thing is. i have my printer in the back( usb ). so what do u think it could be thats not letting my comp sleep / standby??

install the drivers for the keyboard there should be a disk that came along with it

i would suggest that you test your USB connections, and make sure they are connected properly! (means opening the case).

i would also suggest that you install all of the drivers etc...

then get back to us

i dont have the CD but my uncle has the same keyboard so i get the software off him.. ok i will try that.. peace
